Chocolate Brownies

Homemade chocolate brownies are just pure heaven. This is my full proof go to brownie recipe and after one bite you’ll see why! This delicious chocolatey goodness comes together in just a few minutes.

Lets not even get started on those little chunks of melted chocolate which you get in every bite. They’re super fudgy and so simple to make.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO MAKE THE BROWNIES

HOW TO MAKE  THE BROWNIES

1. In a large bowl add in melted butter, eggs, vanilla and coffee then mix together. The coffee enhances the flavour of the chocolate however if you don’t like the idea of coffee with chocolate you could skip it all together.

2. Add both the castor sugar and brown sugar to the mixture and whisk together until its smooth.

3. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder and salt. Sieving helps to eliminate lumps especially from the cocoa powder.

4. Stir the mixture until the dry ingredients are just incorporated.

5. Fold in the chocolate chips or chunks with a spatula ensuring all the other ingredients are well incorporated.

6. Transfer the batter to a 8 × 8 inch baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 35 minutes. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan then cut them to squares.

TIPS FOR THIS RECIPE

  • Do not over-bake the brownies. When a skewer/toothpick is inserted into the center it will not come out clean. You’ll know the brownies are ready when you begin to see some cracks at the top.

  • Wondering what kind of chocolate to use? Use semisweet or bittersweet chocolate to balance out the sugar in the recipe for best results.
